Common questions
How do I join a camp?
Ask the camp's manager to share the camp with you. Tap the invite link they send. If Actaeon is installed, it opens with the camp code filled in. If not, the link shows the code, so you can install the app, sign in, and enter it under Join with a code. Each invite link works for one person, one time.
I never got the confirmation email.
Check your junk or spam folder for a message from [email protected]. Open the link on the same iPhone you signed up on, then sign in. If the email isn't there after a few minutes, email us from the address you signed up with and we'll sort it out.
How do I invite a guest?
Managers and officers can use Share camp from the camp page, from the Herd's share button, or by pressing and holding the camp in your list. Choose how long the guest keeps access (1, 3, or 7 days, 6 months, or with no end date), whether they can see Top Secret deer, and whether they can add pictures. Each send makes a new link for one person.
How do I remove a guest?
Open the camp page and go to Guests. The camp manager can revoke a guest there, and the guest loses access right away.
What can a guest do?
Guests can look through the Herd, each deer's page, and Hunting mode. They can't edit, mark, or share anything. If the invite allowed it, they can add pictures, and the manager tags them later.
A picture has the wrong date.
Actaeon reads the date from the picture file, or from the date stamp printed on the picture. If the camera's clock was off, the stamp will be too. Camp managers can fix it from the deer's page with Change the date, and it's worth resetting the clock on the camera.
Does Actaeon track my location?
No. Hunting mode uses your location while it's open to work out whether you're at one of your camp's stands and to get the local wind. That location isn't saved. See the privacy policy for details.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to the Camps screen, tap the gear icon, open Settings, and tap Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm. Your account is deleted immediately. That also deletes any camp where you're the only manager, for everyone in it. To keep a camp, email [email protected] before you delete and we'll move it to another member. If you're on an older beta build without this option, email [email protected] from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.
Is Actaeon on the App Store?
Not yet. Actaeon is in a private beta on TestFlight. If your camp uses it, ask your camp manager for a TestFlight invite.
